4. Submission
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PctdEBueW98 Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker are famous for wrestling a hybrid WWE/MMA style. They also famously faced off in the crowd at UFC 121, a real life moment that demonstrated they personally hate each other. WWE should build upon this video vignettes could explore the personal animosity between the pair, and their shared love of MMA could be tied up in a storyline that sees them clash in a submission match. Taker's gogoplata 'Hell's Gate' versus Lesnar's kimura or 'Brock lock' the only way to win would be by tapping out, an image that fans can scarcely imagine either man doing. The status of Taker's gogoplata is up in the air it's been banned in the past in WWE but a range of submissions could come in to play in the match. The jiu-jitsu aficionados could full on bring a range of MMA holds in, and transition a flurry of submission maneuvers in an exciting match climax. In the past we have seen MMA style mesh effectively with pro wrestling. Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe contested an exciting MMA-style bout in TNA, and Taker himself worked through some MMA spots with Angle in 2006. A bout with a legitimate MMA star like Brock Lesnar is a mouth-watering prospect. The boxing exchanges wouldn't be bad either. Taker vs Lesnar in an MMA context is perhaps the most intriguing proposition for a WWE gimmick match.
