WWE WrestleMania 33: Assessing The Potential Of All 14 Matches

13. Alexa Bliss Vs. Everybody - SmackDown Women's Title Match

It's difficult not to recall the embarrassment that was the Vickie Guerrero Invitational at WrestleMania XXX when pondering what WWE has in store for Alexa Bliss in Orlando.

The match was a clusterf*ck free-for-all with no consideration of realism. To underscore that, Nikki and Brie Bella took twenty-one seconds to floor twelve other women with a stereo suicide dive. They sat on the outside, almost politely, waiting for their cue, before the light impact was apparently sufficient to send them all flying like bowling pins.

Times have changed. Women's wrestling is taken far more seriously in 2017. The prospect of having Natalya attempt to lock three other women into her Sharpshooter finish - an absolutely impossible move, even by WWE's exaggerated standards - is inconceivable. The women of WWE are no longer treated (merely) as eye candy. The match will hopefully be more respectful towards them, even if it stands little chance of being realistic.

WWE has apparently reached out to several Divas of yesteryear, so Alexa Bliss: One Versus All might degenerate into a nostalgia highlight reel at some point.

The transparent desire to create a "WrestleMania Moment" could undo the good work the blue brand has done with an average hand since the brand split.
