WWE WrestleMania 42: 20 Things That NEED To Happen

3. Pat McAfee’s Involvement Is Minimal

For the love of all things holy, please, please, please don’t book Pat McAfee like Travis Scott last year during Cody vs. John Cena. Randy's "boy" doesn’t need his own entrance, and he sure doesn’t need to come out midway through Saturday’s main event. All McAfee needs to do is roll out with Orton then maybe pull a leg, trip the ref etc at most.

He shouldn’t be the focal point.

The same could be said for Jelly Roll, by the way. Jelly has remarkably become one of SmackDown's best storytellers during backstage promos and on the mic inside the ring, but 'Mania's first night headliner shouldn't have much to do with Pat or Mr. Roll. Keep that WWE Title the heck away from both of them too. If Jelly puts it over his shoulder, then we're cooked.

WWE's booking is already running a little close to the worst of WCW levels as it is, so no-one needs a modern retelling of the David Arquette farce on their hands. Come WrestleMania, Jelly and certainly McAfee have to be kept at arms length so Orton and Rhodes can get on with doing what they do best.

Hunter has to trust them to deliver a main event worth seeing. Pat can be around ringside being a menace/doing his best Jimmy Hart impression, but that's it. The bulk of his work should come on television once 'Mania is all said and done. Then, he can cut some gloating promos about how he and Orton were absolutely right heading into Las Vegas.
