6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (8 December - Results & Review)

2. A Pure Steiner-Coded Promo

WWE Raw Bron Breakker

Since he debuted in NXT, Bron Breakker has been frequently compared to his uncle Scott Steiner, and rightfully so. Many of those comparisons have been centered on his athletic ability, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that Big Poppa Pump’s promo style has rubbed off on Breakker.

The Vision closed out Raw in the ring and handed the mic to Bron, a week after he delivered a career-defining promo. Would Breakker be up to the challenge of following that turn on the mic?

Fans got their answer in short order. Bron bemoaned the “new” CM Punk that returned to WWE in 2023 – a nice guy who follows the rules and takes pictures with young talent to post on social media – calling him a fraud.

Then Breakker went full Steiner.

Bron said that for all of Punk’s preaching about being straight edge, he looks like “the biggest cr**khead anyone has ever seen.” He continued to rant and rave, begging for “the old CM Punk” to show up on Raw on January 5th, because Breakker would destroy this nice guy version.

Breakker promised to send Punk to the hospital, take his World Heavyweight Championship, and “hell, while I’m at it, I’ll take your wife too.” (That one got a pretty good reaction from Logan Paul in the background.)

We can debate whether this promo was “better” than last week’s effort, but if Breakker can channel his Uncle Scott in the right proportion and sound just one step short of totally unhinged, he will really have something as a main-event-level superstar.

In addition, this just makes the anticipation for Punk’s eventual rebuttal grow even more.
