The Flash #124 was an issue that contained a landmark story called Flash of Two Worlds. This book was the one that established the DC Multiverse, which allowed for variations on popular characters to be reintroduced into DC's continuity.

The story featured a return of the Golden Age Flash, Jay Garrick, which was represented perfectly on the now iconic cover illustrated by Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson.

Both Flash's are running to answer the call of a person in danger. The imagery was so iconic, it was recently recreated in an episode of The Flash, which also featured Jay Garrick wearing a similar costume as the Flash of his Earth.

The cover has since been parodied and paid homage to on numerous Flash books over the years. This book, published in 1961, began a series of storylines and crossover events that would culminate in 1985 with the Crisis on Infinite Earths. It is considered to be one of the most important single issues of The Flash ever published.
