A private detective passes a "Missing Cat" poster in the street, sees the cat moments later and decides to return it to the owner. The chance meeting between the PI and the cat owner leads to a pleasant conversation between the two and they end up having tea and talking for hours. Making a date to meet for dinner another day, the two never meet again the cat owner has disappeared forever. Lost Cat is a touching look at what happens to someone when they find a person they connect with and then lose them for whatever reason. The comic looks at the PI's life in the decades that follow this chance encounter, unable to move on as he makes it his life's work to find the woman who left his life so suddenly, making him forever lonely. It's a very bittersweet and thoughtful comic, written and drawn in Jason's uniquely melancholic and oftentimes amusing style that brings to life this ambitious and emotionally deep story of love found and lost.
