4. Cassidy - Preacher

Preacher, also created by Garth Ennis, is a comic that follows Jesse Custer and his friends on the search for God after Jesse is inhabited by Genisis, a being created when a demon and angel love each other very much and have a special hug. One of Jesse’s stated friends is Cassidy, a 100-year-old Irish vampire. Cassidy was a fan favourite due to his drinking, foul language and general debauchery.

Cassidy does help Jesse for a great deal of the comic but is a true antihero due to his nature to fulfil the role of villain at times within the comic, sometimes in really shocking and repulsive ways.

Cassidy is a vampire who, although he cares for humans, is a creature who is not human in any sense of the word.
