10 Badass Batman Rogues You've Probably Never Heard About

1. The Monk

Clownface DC
DC Comics

If you've never heard of the Monk, he's one of the oldest Batman villains as he originated during the Golden Age of comics.

Not only that, but the villain is also actually one of the first supervillains the Caped Crusader ever fights. He was known initially as Louis DeBois but was later retconned as Niccolai Tepes.

So, what's this guy's deal? He's a monk, right? He wears all red robes, including a face covering, which is admittedly intimidating.

The Monk poses as a kind of self-help guru, and he posts up in a castle on the outskirts of Gotham, gathering a large following. These followers find out all too late that their hooded leader is actually a vampire! He feeds on the blood of the living and transforms people into creatures of the night!

The Monk's backstory and origin, even his name, have consistently changed over the decades, but one aspect has remained faithful. He is a vampire, which makes him a total badass.
