10 Batman Sidekicks Everyone Forgets

3. Bluebird

Batman Harper Row Bluebird
DC Comics

As far as sidekicks go, Bluebird - also known as Harper Row - is way too badass to be as ignored as she is in comics.

The child of a negligent father, Harper became entirely self-dependent at a young age, filling for emancipation from her father and moving her and her brother out of his house, where she would support them by becoming an electrical engineer.

After discovering that her brother was being bullied and beaten because of his sexuality, Harper would try and confront said bullies, leading to a fight where she would get beat up, having to be saved by Batman.

While considering herself in his debt, Harper would save Batman twice - once from Tiger Shark, and once by saving his life after he was almost killed by the Court of Owls. After this, she would appear as Bluebird, serving as a mixture of another sidekick for the Bat and also a helping hand with any tech-related issues.

Realising she needed to prioritise either her superhero life or her studies, Bluebird would retire from her sidekick career in order to go to college full-time - although she still has her costume, just in case.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
