While the Iron Spider probably isn't the first thing that pops into your head when you try and think of Tony Stark's biggest and best inventions, it really is the proverbial dark horse in the competition.

Because where Iron Man's suits are naturally impressive, most of them are built by Tony for Tony, which makes a lot of the design work easy, as he's creating something tailor-fit to his own requirements.
