10 Comic Book Characters With Extremely Versatile Powersets

2. Doctor Doom (Marvel Comics)

Doom Doctor Doom is one of the greatest villains in fiction. He's arguably the greatest in comics, period, with only villains of the Joker's calibre being able to rival him in terms of popularity and greatness. Most people think that Doctor Doom's only real weapon is his intellect - but they'd be incredibly wrong. At any given moment, with his standard equipment, Doom can be a handful for any opponent in a physical fight thanks to his vast array of powers that come courtesy of his armour. First, his gadgets - Doctor Doom's armour is packed full of countless gadgets that offer various functions on both an offensive and defensive level. For example, aside from it making him very durable (able to take punches from the likes of Hulk, Thor, Sentry and the Thing without turning to mist), he can erect a forcefields that reinforce this durability. He also has a mini-missile launcher, poisonous darts that fire from his fingers, the ability to freeze or electrocute things with his touch, an energy ray that can hold back a raging Hulk, teleportation devices, devices that can read energy signatures, and the ability to emit various harmful gases - as well as a lot more. He can also survive in space and water inside the armour. Interestingly, it also has a device which renders it immune to magnetism (so, for example, Magneto cannot effect it) and contains splinters from the true cross to ward off vampires. In addition to the gadgets it contains, however, it also allows Doctor Doom to auto-cast the magic spells he knows, without the aid of speech or incantations. For example, Doom can cast the powerful Crimson Bands which are magical restrains that can hold the likes of Iron Man and Hulk in place very easily.
