At this point you may think I'm picking on Spider-Man villains. I'm not. It just so happens that Spidey tangles with a veritable bevy of laughably costumed goofs. Mysterio is the creme de la creme of dumb supervillain costume designs. You've got the purple and green colour scheme, which does nothing for Green Goblin either, as previously discussed. There's also the eyes that attach his cape to his chest. That's pretty dumb. But then there's the fishbowl. On his head. Why, Mysterio? How does that fit into your modus operandi as the Marvel Universe's premier evil special effects illusion guy? It's just a struggle to make the leap from "I want to be a villain" to "I'm good with illusions" to "I need a fishbowl on my head." Perhaps we'll never know. But hey, Kevin Smith told a great Mysterio story in his short run on Daredevil. So the guy might have the worst costume in comic book history, but he is at least the star of one memorable story arc.
