10 Comic Book Characters Who Didn't Deserve The Hate

If there were ever a single sure example of the fact that everyone hates you when you're at the top, it's Superman.

Although it's fair to be annoyed when the Man of Steel is basically used as a plot device, it's less fair to say that Superman is just outright a bad character because he's overpowered. Because him having a lot of powers is sort of the point - which is why so many storylines revolve around him struggling with knowing when is okay for him to use his powers, and when is not.

We've seen alternate universe versions of Superman take over the world time and time again, to the extent it should be clear that the purpose of Superman is to take a character who technically could do whatever he wants, and yet chooses to try and always do the right thing - and that this arguably makes Superman one of the most interesting explorations of what it means to be a superhero to this day.

Hating on Superman for having too many superpowers is like hating on Batman for not having enough - it sort of misses what makes the character so good.
