10 Comics Villains Who Had The Best Debuts
1. Joker
"Tonight, at precisely twelve o'clock midnight I will kill Henry Claridge and steal the Claridge diamond! Do not try to stop me! The Joker has spoken!"
With these chilling words, the Crown Prince of Crime announced himself upon the stage as the biggest threat to ever face Gotham City and its caped protector.
Created by Bob Kane, Bill Finger, and Jerry Robinson, and based on the superb 1928 movie 'The Man Who Laughs', the Joker was a completely different entity to the insane serial killer he is today, and though he is one of the most beloved villains in all of the superhero genre, there is something in his initial appearance that has been lost over the years.
He's just so damn unnerving, with his razor cut smile and seemingly monotonous tone, and the fact that he kills with impunity just to simply rob people are traits that are so terrifying, they have managed to last a lot longer than some of his other tricks.
Like electrocuting hand buzzers for example.
Never has any single superhero faced a nemesis that seems to perfectly fit them the way Batman has with the Joker, and just think, they planned to kill him off after just ONE issue.
