10 Criminally Underrated Super Teams In DC Comics

2. Outsiders

There have been many incarnations of the Batman-founded team The Outsiders. Originally created to showcase heroes who would not fit within the Justice League at the given moment, heroes like Geo-Force, Metamorpho, and Katana got the chance to rub shoulders with the Dark Knight, further raising their stock.

By 1995, however, the bloom was off the rose of this team, and the title was canceled. That all changed with events of the Young Justice/Titans cross over Graduation Day. During those events, both teams suffered casualties on both sides when a rogue android reactivates a Cyborg Superman, which proceeds to kill both Omen and Donna Troy.

Nightwing dissolves the Titans, having lost enough proverbial family members, and leaves it up to Roy Harper, Arsenal, to pick up the pieces.

Under his guidance, Arsenal recruits super strong Grace Choi, Black Lightning's daughter Thunder, metahuman Green Lantern Jade, the reprogrammed android, now called Indigo, and Shift, an offshoot of original member Metamorpho.

With this team, Harper makes it all about the work. Deciding to take a proactive stance, Harper convinces Nightwing to join as a field leader that takes active intelligence and prevents villains plans before they can come to fruition rather than waiting for a plan to reveal itself.

Outsiders took a bold stance as a team of coworkers rather than friends. The dynamic was unlike anything else in comics at the time, making for a compelling read.
