10 Directors Who Need To Step Into The Marvel Cinematic Universe

2. Gareth Evans

Justin Lin Ghost Rider
Sony Pictures Classics/Stage 6 Films

Gareth Evans is the best action director working today. Both The Raid and its follow-up have jaw dropping action with some of the best hand to hand combat sequences that have ever been put to film.

That's not to sell Evans short. He is also extremely good at intimate character moments. The Raid story is a tale of two brothers and manages to show both sides of the criminal underworld through these characters. The good and the bad.

Now, we all know Iron Fist was a disaster. The show was poorly acted and failed to deliver on the kung-fu action that was needed for the character. Rebooting Iron Fist with the talent of Gareth Evans behind the camera would be brilliant. He could add incredible fight scenes as well as strong character drama to Danny Rand's journey. With all of the family drama that comes with the Iron Fist, Evans could handle the weight of that story.

Evans has yet to step into a superhero film, and his fingerprints on Iron Fist would be what's best for the character and the MCU.
