10 Directors Who Need To Step Into The Marvel Cinematic Universe
1. Ari Aster
With Marvel seemingly branching out into the spooky side of the MCU with the addition of Sam Raimi for Doctor Strange. It seems only logical to bringing a phenomenal independent talent to push the horror direction further even more.
That man is Ari Aster, director of Hereditary and Midsommar. Two incredible horror films released at the end of the 2010s. Aster has shown he can do both psychological terror and physical horror with both films. Midsommar is incredibly eerie from the beginning and slowly ramps up the tension. Hereditary is a heartbreaking character piece about a woman's descent into madness.
Applying these elements to the MCU would allow for the horror wing of the Marvel Universe to be explored. Aster could develop films based around Mephisto, Ghost Rider or Werewolf by Night. All incredible characters who have never reached their potential on the big screen.
