8. Brian Azzarello & Lee Bermejo
Admittedly, Batman: Damned wasn't fantastic - no one needed to see Bruce Wayne's privates nor have their parents hear about it because it made the mainstream news.
Despite this, Brian Azzarello has written some brilliant Batman stories over the years, such as the underrated Batman: Europa or short stories like Broken City, meaning that overlooking Damned's relative miss-step and giving him another chance with the Bat could lead to fans receiving some high quality tales.
One thing about Damned that all can agree on though is how beautiful the art is. Lee Bermejo's unique style makes the book's pages a delight to look at - a fact that would make him the ideal one to join Azzarello on the main Bat-title. Like Azzarello, Bermejo isn't exactly a stranger to Gotham as well, the artist having also written and drawn Batman: Noël.
This team wouldn't be the safest choice, but they would certainly create some interesting results.
