10 Former Justice League Members Who Need Another Call-Up

3. Zauriel

Martian Manhunter New 52
DC Comics

Zauriel joined the Justice League during Grant Morrison's run on the series, and is really representative of one of the odder aspects of the DC Universe.

Unlike other comics universes that don't often actively include the Judaeo-Christian God, the deity is in fact a character in the DC Universe, where they are known as The Presence, as are their hosts of angels.

Zauriel could add a whole new interesting element to the DC powerhouse: his presence could bring up the discussions and importance of faith and belief. Given that the Justice League are practically gods among men, it would be interesting to see an actual heavenly being part of the group and how this plays into the discussion around the team.

Plus, they're just a badass looking character, a strange, albino angel with golden armour and a flaming sword? Yeah, what's not to like there?
