10 Former Justice League Members Who Need Another Call-Up

2. Black Lightning

Martian Manhunter New 52
DC Comics

A character with this level of poise and strength would be an important addition to the team.

One of the first major African American heroes to appear in DC Comics, he really should be given pride of place on their flagship superhero team for that alone. But more than that, Black Lightning adds more elements that make him an intriguing addition to the team.

He's generally slightly older than most of the others, and is in fact a father. As such, he's a character with memory of history and with a tangible look to the future as a father wanting the best future for his girls.

He could be written as a mature, and socially aware team member, adding a grounding voice to the lofty team of superheroes.

And hey, there's a Black Lightning TV show coming up, so maybe giving the character some new love in the comics would be well timed too.
