10 Great Justice League Comics That Could Unite The DCEU
2. Blackest Night
We got a glimpse of Green Lantern in the Justice League in the opening scenes. Fingers crossed Synder’s version shows us more. Blackest Night is another iconic book by Geoff Johns, this time with Green Lantern and the corps at the forefront of the crossover with Ivan Reis working with Johns.
The Blackest Night is a prophecy that haunts the Green Lantern Corps. In the comic, this prophecy comes to life as Nekron unleashes the Black Lantern Corps, comprised of characters that have resurrected from death, onto the Universe.
What is cool about this storyline is seeing the seven other coloured power rings of the emotional spectrum being used to go against Nekron's forces. Barry Allen uses the Blue Lantern ring of hope, Mera uses the Red Lantern ring of hate, Lex Luthor uses the Orange Lantern ring of greed, and Wonder Woman uses the Star Sapphire's ring of love. To make things even cooler, Hal Jordon transforms himself and the Black Lantern heroes into a White Lantern Corps.
Just picturing the visuals of all these multiple coloured corps is hype enough.
