10 Heartwarming Marvel Moments That Made Fans Cry
3. The Death Of Deadpool - Deadpool
2013's Deadpool series by writing duo Posehn and Duggan was really something special. Irreverently funny, bitingly satirical, yet unafraid to show just how tragic Wade Wilson's life has been and how much he's laughing through the pain, this series is basically everything you need for a great Deadpool run.
However, all good things must come to an end. While Deadpool's adventures would definitely continue, his creative team decided to greet the Secret Wars event with the mother of all send offs for the supporting cast we've been attached to for 45 issues.
All of Deadpool's enemies have finally gotten it into their heads that - maybe - attacking a highly skilled soldier who once willed himself back together after literally being liquefied, isn't the best idea. As such, they begin gunning for his friends, family, and young daughter.
We'll give you three guesses as to the fates of the folks behind this little scheme.
After that unpleasantness is done and over with, we catch up with Deadpool living on a boat with his friends and family, having left his suit and weapons behind to dedicate himself to raising his child and a life of peace.
Just in time for the incursion to go off and for everyone to die. And since this is Deadpool, no peaceful going into the light. The supporting cast we've been watching and loving this whole time? All die brutally, with one in particular falling off the boat and into boiling water, while his young son watches helplessly.
And yet, Deadpool dies content, as he holds his daughter and waits for the end. Because he's not going out as Deadpool, violent mercenary.
He's going out as Wade Wilson, loving father and friend. And that's all he needs.
