10 Important Lessons Comic Book Superheroes Taught Us

9. Wally West On Perseverance

Superman John Byrne
DC Comics

DC's Rebirth not only rebooted the entire universe, but also works as a heartfelt tale of hope in the face of utter annihilation.

Wally West is trying desperately to get people remember him so he can escape the Speed Force before it destroys him. Finally, after many failed attempts, he ends up meeting Barry Allen, the one person he believed would most be able to save him. Yet, still nothing.

So he decides to give one last goodbye before fading into oblivion. Though, in his heart-breaking farewell, something clicks, and Barry pulls him from the brink.

The message here maybe basic, but it's often the basic things we need to be reminded of more than any. When all seems lost, hold on just a bit longer, because things can get better. No one can predict the future, all we can do is move into it.

You never know what may be waiting in the next moment, but when pain outweighs hope it's hard not to think you do. You feel pain now, so it's always going to be that way forever right? Maybe or maybe not. The only thing real fact is that by giving in we lose all potential for change.
