3. The One Where Purple Guy Becomes President - Marvel 1602 #8
Despite being only very briefly featured in the Marvel universe, Earth-460 covers one of the darkest potential futures for our heroes. It follows a scenario where the Purple Man - who can mind control anyone he speaks to - lies in wait until the world's heroes turn old, and then uses his powers to become "President for life".
Naturally, this has some pretty grim results, with the majority of vigilantes being arrested, and Captain America given the death sentence for trying to stand against the villain. However, the machine that should have killed him instead sends him to the past, which is great for Steve, but pretty much dooms any lingering vestiges of heroism on Earth-460.
It's also a weird universe because the decision to send Captain America to the past also results in Earth-311, which features in the frankly completely surreal 1602 Marvel series, where we see how all of our heroes would fare in the Medieval age.
