10 Joker Fates Worse Than Death

1. Becoming The Joker

Wonder Woman Joker
DC Comics

No matter his origins, the worst possible thing that has ever happened to the Joker is becoming the Joker. This ordinary man had the proverbial “one bad day” that tipped his life over into insanity. The factors that fractured his mind created a creature that has plagued the lives of untold numbers far beyond his personal vendetta with Batman.

The accident that made him changed him physically and gave him chalk-white skin, emerald green hair, and bright red lips. It also either altered or unlocked a sadistic, maniacal, and nihilistic killer who cares nothing for life, not even his own. The only person he refused to kill is Batman because the Dark Knight is “far too much fun.” Few others are safe from his whims and petty wraiths. One need only look at the abuses heaped on Harley Quinn for proof of that.

As spur of the moment and random most of the Clown Prince’s actions seems to be, he is especially methodical in the planning of his capers. An intelligent man with knowledge of biochemistry and other disciplines that seems to confound his insanity, the Joker takes great pride in his crimes. Nothing makes him angrier than when he doesn’t get the credit he deserves for a particularly brilliant heist.
