10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About Justice League Unlimited

9. Gail Simone's Secret Cameo

Justice League Unlimited
Warner Bros.

Gail Simone is regarded with something between adoration and awe by a good portion of comic readers, as her time working on series such as Birds of Prey and Deadpool are hugely influential to the characters within them.

As such, Simone was commissioned to write the episode 'Double Date', which would be the sixth episode of the second season. This makes perfect sense, as the storyline revolves around Huntress and Black Canary, who are two-thirds of the Birds of Prey that Gail put such work into crafting.

Indeed, the only reason the story doesn't appear to contain the trio's third member, Batgirl, is because of the previously mentioned embargo on any character related to Batman.

This said, it does allow for The Question to get more screen time instead, which doesn't seem like a bad thing, especially when it left Simone time to carefully craft a love story between him and Huntress.
