10 Most Brutal Things Jason Todd Has Ever Done

3. Actively Revelled In Violence - The Last Crusade

Jason Todd Tortures Joker
DC Comics

Frank Miller and Brian Azzarello's The Last Crusade was a fascinating, if not at times flawed read, for fans of Miller's Dark Knight Returns world.

Looking at a pre-Dark Knight Returns landscape in which Batman is still active yet feeling the aches and pains of decades spent protecting Gotham City, The Last Crusade centres around the relationship between Bruce Wayne and Jason Todd.

With Bruce realising that he can't go on forever as Gotham's saviour, he's facing the sad truth that Jason just isn't up to the task of taking over the Batman mantle. That's down to the bloodthirsty, reckless attitude of Todd - as highlighted at several turns during this one-shot tale.

Whether it's using needless, extreme force on a criminal, grimly beating some innocents who were under the control of Poison Ivy, crushing someone's head with a car door and maniacally grinning about it, or having all kinds of sordid plans as to what to do with the Joker, this is a Jason Todd who outright revels in violence and pain.

All wouldn't end well for this Jason, for the story would close with the implied butchering of Todd at the hands of the Clown Prince of Crime and his goons.
