10 Most Brutal Things Jason Todd Has Ever Done

Batman 424
DC Comics

Initially, Jason Todd was very much just Dick Grayson-lite. Similar background, similar tragic death of his parents, similar outfit, similar personality, and he even died his hair black to match Dick.

Upon Crisis on Infinite Earths concluding in 1986, Jason was given a new, rebellious, angst-ridden attitude. And with that, readers started to see the glimpses of a darker side to the second Robin.

Jim Starlin is one of the all-time great comic book writers, and it was under his pen that Jason Todd's descent into darkness really stepped up a gear. Case in point, Batman #424.

When Felipe Garzonas manages to avoid a sexual assault and battery charge due to diplomatic immunity, Jason is desperate to make him pay. Following the victim of this assault hanging themselves, Todd goes against Batman's orders and pays Felipe a visit - a visit that ends with the creep falling to his death from his penthouse apartment.

Upon the Dark Knight appearing on the scene to quiz his young ward on what really happened, Jason's only response is "I guess I spooked him. He slipped."

Just two issues later would begin the iconic A Death in the Family arc which would culminate in the death of Jason Todd.
