10 Most Heroic Things Lex Luthor Has Ever Done

7. Made America Into A Utopia - Superman: Red Son

Superman Red Son is a shining example of how despite Mark Millar's many, many, MANY faults, he has a pretty damn good batting average when it comes to Superman, and one of his most fascinating tales was Superman: Red Son.

In this story about a reimagined communist Superman and Lex Luthor as the president of the United States, we see Luthor being his usual ultra egotistical self while slowly climbing the ranks of government. While still unquestionably a huuuuuggeee dick, Lex still manages to do a lot of good for the USA.

For one thing, he eliminates all diseases, makes humans no longer have to sleep, creates a booming economy without stepping on too many folks, and generally does way more good than harm than you would expect out of Lex.

Sure it's still easy to not like the guy throughout the story due to how much of an egocentric jackass he still is, but the results speak for themselves. Not to mention the twist at the end, where his family is revealed to be the ones who give birth to Superman in the far, far future.
