10 Most Iconic Spider-Man Covers - Ranked

2. Amazing Spider-Man #300

Chapterone Cover
Marvel Comics

If you ask any Spider-Man fan what their favourite cover is, at least half would bring up Amazing Spider-Man #300, and with good reason.

It's yet another testament to Todd McFarlane's legacy and a perfect example of the highly dynamic work he always contributed to the web slinger. The artist would even revisit the design as he celebrated the 300th issue of Spawn.

Not only was this Spidey's 300th issue, it also marked 25 years since he swung into the Marvel universe.

To celebrate the double milestone, McFarlane wanted to do something really special and brought us the first full appearance of Venom. While Eddie Brock had already introduced himself back in Web of Spider-Man #18 and Venom's official first appearance was in the previous issue, this was our first real taste of the now infamous villain.

We see a terrified Mary Jane cowering and begging a mysterious figure to come no closer, but it's just Peter who is sporting the black suit at the time.

She explains she was attacked by someone wearing a Spider-Man costume, who is later revealed to be Eddie Brock wearing the original symbiote and the rest is history.
