3. Scarlet Witch

The only woman to make the list is the mutant Wanda Maximoff otherwise known as the Scarlet Witch. Daughter of Magneto, twin sister of Quicksilver, half-sister of Polaris, apprentice to Agatha Harkness, and lover of the Vision, Wonder Man, and Hawkeye Wanda is well-known around the Marvel universe.

Though she has been around for fifty years the main reason she is so well-known occurred only eight years ago when she single-handedly decimated the mutant population with the uttering of three simple words. Now that is powerful. Originally Wanda's powers were described as having the ability to manipulate probability. She retains these powers but as years have gone by she grew into the ability to manipulate reality.

This is an incredible power and could be used to do just about anything. Despite this, she pretty much spent her years as an Avenger offering mild support to the more popular characters. So why does she even make the list? Because she is immensely powerful and the Marvel universe finally recognized said power circa 2004.

Being driven insane by the loss of her 'children' and her continuing use of her reality warping powers coupled with the magicks taught to her Wanda launched an assault on her fellow Avengers. After speaking to brother Pietro she completely remade the world in her father's image where mutants reigned supreme in the House of M series.

And she didn't even break a sweat. Furthermore, with but a thought and the speaking of three words Wanda eliminated the X-gene in millions of mutants leaving them powerless. Though she isn't nearly as powerful as previous entry Sentry, Wanda's ability to change reality with such ease is frightening to say the least. She has recently returned and is once more with the Avengers - now partnered with other mutants as well - using her abilities to redeem her past misuse of devastating power.
