10 Most Sexist Comic Superheroines Still Being Published Today

Sara Pezzini was once just a homicide detective with the New York Police Deparment. Then she found the Witchblade, which gave her great powers, powers that she uses in an unending battle against supernatural forces.

Oh, yes, the Witchblade also gives her an incredibly skimpy costume. In fact, the costume doesn't really exist. Pezzini, once she's in hero mode, is mostly naked, except for a few self-censoring threads of metal.

Published by Top Cow Productions, Witchblade has ranked as one of the more popular non-Marvel or non-DC superhero titles in the comics industry since its launch in 1995. It even spawned a short-lived TV series.

Of course, that teeny tiny "costume" might have something to do with the series' success.
