10 Must-Read X-Men Storylines
8. Age Of Apocalypse
Written by VariousArt by VariousThe problem with comic books, especially with the X-Men, is that there are so many different timelines and alternate universes that it's hard to know who or what goes where. However, if you want to try something a little different and a little more surreal than the current X-Men storyline, then the Age of Apocalypse should be the next book on your list of X-Men stories to read.
Much like some of the stories coming up on this list, this book centres around time travel. This time a psionic mutant called Legion, who just so happens to be the bastard son of Professor X, travels back in time to kill Magneto, but accidentally kills his father instead. X-Men arch nemesis Apocalypse bares witness to this and decides that it's the perfect time to begin his world domination thus the name Age of Apocalypse.
From there, everything you know about the X-Men, and even the X-Universe, means nothing any more. Everything has changed. Villains become heroes, heroes become villains and the entire world is turned upside down.
If you want a fun, interesting take on what would happen if Professor X wasn't the one leading the X-Men then this is the book for you.
