10 New Year 2018 Resolutions Marvel Comics Should Make
2. Bring Back The Fantastic Four
Chip Zdarksy and Jim Cheung's Marvel Two-in-One could very well be the gateway to realising the return of Marvel's first family, but, at the moment, fans are still waiting on that Fantastic return.
A consequence of Disney and Fox's feud over the on-screen rights to the FF, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben have absented the comics spotlight in recent years, but things could be set to change this year. Disney have just negotiated a mammoth takeover of 21st Century Fox and, irrespective of the many many worries that entails, it looks as though it's opened up a return for the Four on both the big and small screens.
Reuniting Johnny and Ben with Reed and Sue could've been the plan all along, but it would feel like a remarkable anticlimax if we weren't to get that reunion now, with the politics that stipulated the Four be placed in comics limbo having been made redundant by recent developments.
Only time will tell if Two-in-One paves the way for a Zdarksy and Cheung FF book, but if it does, then this year will already be a considerable improvement over the last. At least for Marvel.
