4. Jaywalking

As far as crimes go, jaywalking isn't exactly high on the list. In fact, some countries don't even consider it a crime at all. That didn't stop Frank serving up his own special brand of justice to an unsuspecting crosswalk avoider.

There has been some debate as to if this incident actually happened. It's one of the most commonly cited moments in Punisher history, but it didn't appear within the pages of Spectacular Spider-Man #82 with the other killings.

This led people to assume it didn't happen, but eagle-eyed readers noticed something in the pages of the next issue.

During Frank's trial, J. Jonah Jameson flicks through the evidence file full of photographs and newspaper clippings. Amongst the photographs, featuring Punisher fighting with Spider-Man and Daredevil, there is one incriminating picture that proves the story true.

In the photograph Frank is seen in the middle of the road, holding a man in a suit who had just received a bad beating. The man's head is flung right back, seemingly indicating that Frank had snapped his neck.

There is no vandalism to be seen and the seemingly unthreatening man is unarmed. The only possible crime he could have committed is crossing the road in an unauthorised place.
