10 Secret Wolverine Superpowers You Never Knew

9. Survived Devolving Into A Feral Version Of Himself

We'll mention the '90s a couple times in this article. Because of the comic boom that was happening then, all the major comic companies were putting out tons of product and resorted to crazier premises to sell comics. One of Marvel's more out-there ideas involved Logan reverting to a feral, wilder version of himself.

Stick with us here.

In 1993, in a legitimately shocking storyline moment, Magneto finally snapped and ripped all of the adamantium from Wolverine's skeleton, leaving him as near death as he had ever been to that point. This is when Logan first discovered that he had claws made from bone, and he continued super-heroing with his new status quo.

A few years later, supervillain Genesis tried and failed to re-inject Wolverine with adamantium. As part of rejecting the procedure, a previously unknown mutation was unlocked and Wolverine began to devolve. He started walking like an animal, grew claws and long hair, and lost most of his intellect.

Also, he lost his nose for some reason.

Regardless of the fact that he was now pretty much a mindless brute, the X-Men kept him around. In a few months, he regained his personality but still looked feral. Within a year or so after that, he returned to normal with no real explanation and it was never mentioned again.

Regardless, he went feral and came back to normal. We'd call that a superpower.
