7. Enhanced Senses
Due to his mutation, Wolverine possesses animal-like hearing, sight, and smell that far exceed that of ordinary humans. While not a glamorous ability, it is absolutely essential to his role as a tracker and hunter, when called on to play these roles.
He can hear sounds in ranges that humans can't as well as over much farther distances. This often acts as an early warning system for him, giving him a heads up on approaching enemies long before anyone could. His hearing is so acute that he can hear faint charges in a person's heartbeat, for example when they are under stress.
His sight also provides him much greater range than human, and he can see in complete darkness, allowing him to move, even drive, at full speed even on the blackest nights.
His sense of smell is extraordinary. He can catch scents miles away - Logan once tracked down his own lower half after being torn in two by the Hulk, who then threw his legs four miles from the scene of the battle. He can easily follow targets through their scent, even on tracks that have been eroded away. He recognizes both friend and foe by their smell, and has used this ability to detect shapeshifting mutants.
He also combines his ability to notice small changes in a person's sweat odor with being able to hear their heartbeat as a sort of lie detector.
