2. The Exiles Brainwashed Proteus Into Thinking He's Morph - #82 (2006)

The Exiles are a group of universe-hopping mutants, who've been tasked with fixing parallel dimensions to prevent the multiverse from collapsing. (Basically, it's like Quantum Leap except... actually, it's just Quantum Leap.)

During one mission, The Exiles travelled to Earth-58163 to eliminate a reality-warping mutant Proteus. Because Proteus can transfer his mind into any body, The Exiles' leader, Blink warned her companions to be cautious while facing him. To the team's horror, Proteus managed to possess Morph, who was a founding member of The Exiles.

Because Proteus could destroy all of existence, The Exiles strongly considered killing Morph for the greater good. However, murdering Morph would just release Proteus, allowing him to possess another.

As a result, the group believed their best bet was to place a Behaviour Modification device on Proteus' head, so he could only tap into Morph's personality and memories.

In theory, this was a good plan. Getting Proteus to put on the device, on the other hand, was a whole other problem.

The Exiles tracked down Proteus, just as he crowned himself the ruler of Atlantis. After Blink knocked off Proteus' crown, she deliberately allowed him to get the upper hand. As he triumphantly placed his crown back on his head, Blink used her "blinking" powers to teleport the Behaviour Device inside it, causing Morph to revert to normal.
