10 Things DC Wants You To Forget About Wonder Woman

9. She Kicked Batman'€™s Ass

Although maybe things wouldn'€™t work out quite so well with Batman, either. Wonder Woman is one of the most powerful superheroes in the DC Universe, and the Dark Knight is at the complete other end of the spectrum - what he lacks in a physical super power, however, he makes up for in ingenuity, intelligence and ruthlessness. It€™'s that which has had him defeat his fellow Justice League members on numerous occasions. He€™'s usually pretty well prepared.

That€™'s why the Knigthfall story (adapted into The Dark Knight Rises) struck such a chord: Batman very rarely loses, even when he€™'s coming up against enemies - or friends - with actual superpowers. To show weakness with the Caped Crusader is to damage the character, apparently.

That'€™s why people don'€™t often mention the time he totally got his ass handed to him by Wonder Woman. Bruce has admitted that Diana is one of the world€™'s greatest melee fighters before, which is something of an understatement. In the underrated 2002 graphic novel The Hiketeia Wonder Woman is honor-bound to protect a woman who Batman is after for her part in a murder, and he has a bit of trouble getting past the Amazonian. Because she stomps on his head. Doesn'€™t get mentioned often.
