8. He Has Been A Member Of The Shi'ar Imperial Guard
The Shi'ar Imperial Guard are an elite team of alien warriors in the Marvel comic book universe. The team serves the rulers of the Shi'ar Empire - also known as the Aerie - both by enforcing Shi'ar Imperial law on all planets within the Shi'ar Galaxy and as the Emperor or Empress' personal guards. The Shi'ar empire is a vast collection of species and cultures in the Shi'ar Galaxy and the Imperial Guard is generally made up of super-powered aliens from within that galaxy - however, Star-Lord has been a member of the Imperial Guard on one occasion. It happened after he had allied himself with Gladiator, Thanos and Ch'ak against the all-powerful maker. After they were victorious, Gladiator - the-then Praetor of the Imperial Guard - drafted him in to the team against his wishes and, for a short time, he worked alongside them.
