When Captain Marvel appeared in the Immortal Hulk series while the jolly green giant is on the run, most fans knew that things were about to get really serious. For anyone who wasn't aware, things quickly turn south, with Danvers revealing that General Fortean has blackmailed her and the Avengers into hunting the Hulk down in order to save the life of the (completely innocent, but also irradiated) Walter Langowski.
Naturally, the Avengers choose to save the life of the man who isn't legging it to get away from them, which leaves her rag-tag version of the Avengers in a bout against the Hulk himself.
The Hulk almost defeats them, only to be blasted with a huge energy beam that splits him into several pieces, which the Avengers then have jarred to take to the General. With friends like these, you truly don't need enemies.
