Wolverine has had his fair share of love interest over the years, but Silver Fox was special. Like Wolverine, she possessed a healing factor which also slowed down her aging factor, making her one of the few people who could truly live a full life with him. A member of the Blackfoot Indian Tribe, Fox met him in the early 1900s and they lived together in a community in the Canadian Rockies. Unfortunately, the man who would later be known as Sabretooth was also living in the community, and in an attempt to assert his dominance over Wolverine, he seemingly kills Fox on Wolverines birthday. However, Fox survived the attack and decades later joined the Weapon X program, the same program that Wolverine and Sabretooth eventually joined. The problem was that because of the memory alterations that Weapon X used on its subjects, it wasnt clear how much the three of them remembered of each other. Due to her altered memories and changed personality, Fox subsequently betrayed Wolverine and Sabretooth on a mission in the 60s and joined the terrorist organization HYDRA. Years later, a former Weapon X member named Mastodon died after his healing factor failed. Joining with Wolverine, Sabretooth and other former members of Weapon X, Fox and the group investigated what exactly happened to Mastodon, and this lead them to Aldo Ferro, the man who had tampered with their memories at Weapon X. Taking control of their minds, Ferro forces Sabretooth to kill Fox. Wolverine, who had regained many of his former memories of Fox, later buried her outside the cabin that they lived together in all those years ago. I wont say that Silver Fox was the purest character, but her villainous side was mostly due to tampering from Weapon X. Yes, she had done bad things, but Id argue most of that wasnt done by her true self. For her to die and not remember any of that, not to mention being killed by one of her former teammates had a cruel irony to it. At least Wolverine had enough of his memories back that he buried her at the place they lived together.
