Although Krypto looks like a normal dog - albeit a normal dog who regularly wears a cape - there is very little normal about him.

As a being from the planet Krypton, he has all the same powers as Superman under the yellow sun of Earth, but, being a dog, his some of his senses as even more superior. He has been the pet of the Super-family since Superman was a boy also showing that he has a lifespan beyond that of dogs found on Earth.

While he often works with the other Kryptonians who have found a home on Earth, Krypto is also a hero in his own right. He actively wants to help people and takes the initiative to do so, once crashing one of Conner Kent's high school classes after he decided to go up against King Shark alone.

A fun loving dog, Krypto is very loyal to the Super-family, although he was initially suspicious of Supergirl, and is known to attack when they are being threatened. He is shown to be closer to Conner Kent and frequently lives with him, rather than Clark.
