The Awesome Androids were built by a demented scientist called the Mad Thinker. He is a supervillain who created computers that determine the outcome of future events. He uses these calculations to take control of seemingly random occurrences during his crime sprees.
He has an AI surgically implanted into his body allowing him to have a permanent connection to his computers. He also has an eidetic memory and can correlate a vast amount of data instantaneously. On top of that, he is the world's greatest robot inventor and has used his skills to create an android army.
That sounds pretty intimidating... until you see what his Awesome Androids look like. Of every design they could possibly have, the Thinker gave his robots a cuboid-shaped head with no facial features. He's one of the smartest people in the world and THAT'S the best design he could come up with to strike fear into his enemies? Also, the Awesome Androids have shapeshifting abilities. This means they can look like whatever they want and they still decide to look like that!
Just to make a silly villain even sillier, the androids can be deactivated by flicking a switch located on their armpits.
