You can’t argue with the fact that the Al Ghuls care about their children. What you can argue with, however, is them grooming them to have the same detached, totally without morals attitude that the rest of the family do. Combine this with just a dash of routinely beating them as ‘fighting practice’, and you have a sort of immortal, twisted Addams Family situation on your hands.

This isn’t even mentioning the interesting trend of trying to kill your child when they disobey you the Al Ghul’s employ, which is as damaging to the kid’s mental and physical wellbeing as you’d expect.

Between Talia Al Ghul and Damian Wayne, it’s almost difficult to tell who was messed up worst by this kind of parenting. Both are amazing fighters and incredibly talented, sure – but when you have a kid who knows more about dismembering limbs than a seasoned war vet, something has clearly gone a little wrong.
