10 Worst Things Magneto Has Ever Done

While Magneto is one of the X-Men's greatest foes, he has also been a loyal member of the team. For a time, he completely reformed, joined the X-Men and even softened his extremist views.

Of course, just because someone decides to reform doesn't mean that their past crimes are forgiven. Magneto was hauled before an international tribunal to face justice for the numerous villainous acts he had committed over the years. However, the tribunal was attacked by the Fenris twins, mutant children of Hydra's Baron Strucker and Charles Xavier was injured in the fight.

Charles asked his old friend to take over as headmaster of the Xavier Institute while he recovered. Magneto agreed and, faking his own death, took over the school as Charles' cousin Michael Xavier.

After an altercation with the Avengers though, Magneto agreed to stand trial again. It was a close call, but Magneto was eventually absolved of all his past crimes. Which would be fine and dandy, if not for the fact that Magneto used mind-control technology from his crashed asteroid base to manipulate the jury into finding him innocent.

Abusing the justice system is hardly heroic behaviour and signified the beginning of Magneto's descent back into villainy.
