11 Brutal Comics Insults That Ruined Characters

6. Batman's Black Book

If there's one character that has made the most jokes about Batman's overly brooding nature, it has to be The Flash. He's one of few characters that isn't at least a little scared to sass the Dark Knight - likely because he knows he can outrun him.

This is shown at its best in Justice League #30, wherein The Flash basically calls Batman out for the amount of one-liners the otherwise stoic hero makes, asking him if he has a "little black book with bad-ass bat-comebacks" - to which the hero's only response is to stare straight ahead with a hilariously menacing look on his face.

With Batman being so consistently menacing, it really does work best when he's working with a team to have at least one of them goofing around about just how serious the Dark Knight is. Plus, it serves as a healthy reminder that, while Batman is amazing, he's still not above having his friends rib him - just like the rest of us.
