12 Lego Sets Every Marvel Fan Needs

2. Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown (76108)

Larger building-size Marvel Lego sets are infrequent because the accompanying price tag makes them hard to move. Still, there are occasions when an oversized set of that sort simply must be released.

Case in point: Dr. Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum, perhaps Marvel’s most iconic real estate. As an Infinity War tie-in, it vaguely tries to capture a scene from the film, and in that regard it works well enough. But take away all that side junk, and this set remains awesome décor.

The interior is shallow but full of Easter eggs. As a playset it’s adequate, and a child’s imagination will make more of it. But for adults, the front exterior really sells the set. The brick front is handsome and the sanctum window printed piece unmistakable, and everything oozes classic Marvel style.

Overall, the minifigs are appreciable: Strange, Iron Man, Iron Spider, and Ebony Maw, plus a Cull Obsidian big fig. But the main draw remains the building itself, and despite some flaws in substance, it’s irresistible eye candy.
