12 Unfairly Hated DC Comics Characters
10. Lobo
Comic readers with selective tastes often sniff at Lobo as the worst example of ‘90s excess. Created by DC as a comment on the ultraviolent “anti-heroes” Marvel had with Wolverine and Punisher, Lobo somehow became one of the most popular characters of the decade.
He’s the last of his kind only because he brutally killed all the others. (In a plague of flying scorpions, no less.) He's vulgar, he's pungent, he's certainly not everyone's cup of tea. But in the overall upstanding DC Universe, there must be enough room for a dumb roguish character like Lobo.
If you want to start considering kind of liking Lobo, read the “52” series from years back. It might change your mind a bit. Really, there's no real reason to care about him, but as long as he's kept in his place (in your local comic shop’s bargain bin), we’ll all make it out okay. Anybody who likes space dolphins so much can’t be all that bad.
