Wolverine and Cyclops' relationship has always been tense, especially as they both had such strong feelings for Jean Grey. The two became friends over the years though, but that long standing tension came to a head in the pages of Schism. Disagreeing with Cyclops over his use of young X-Men in the field, the two came to blows in a brawl which saw them very nearly kill each other. When Cyclops later murdered Professor X under the influence of the Phoenix Force, Wolverine held himself back from killing his old ally on a number of occasions, and the two now share a mutual hatred which only ended when Logan died!
